what are some low residue foods for dogs.not necessarally found in comercially bought dog foods?

vomiting dog was told by vet to consume a low residue diet for awhile. I don’t want to run out and buy food for just a couple of days and would rather give him people food that is low residue.
White rice, prepared with 1 cup rice to 3 1/2 cups water and cook untill water is absorbed..likely about an hour..stir in drained hamburger,ground or boiled and boned chicken, or turkey, or a jar of baby food meat… this will keep him going for a few days..If diet takes longer, the you need to add cooked vegetables to the brew.
I’m not sure what "low residue" food is, but when my dog (14 years old) gets an upset stomach I feed him rice with chicken or scrambled egg.
Since yours has been vomiting, you might just try rice cooked in broth. If that goes well, try adding deboned chicken. Deboned meat is important if you’re cooking the meat. A cooked bone will shatter when a dog chews it and potentially cause damage to their intestinal tract.
